Wine Foundation Class: France - The Regions of Burgundy & The Rhone
A Wine Foundation Class
France is where it all began. The wines of France are highly regulated and based on tradition and a thousand years of trial and error. Every subsequent wine-growing region on the planet has based its wine growing methodology on the French system. In this class, we will guide you through two of the most important wine regions of France: Burgundy and the Rhone. Don't let the complicated names and fancy labels scare you away from these incredible wines. You will learn how to read a wine label and understand what it really says. Let us help you fall in love with French wines. Light appetizers will be paired with the wines for this evening.
In this class we will taste the wines of Burgundy that best represent the region: Chablis, a Côte de Nuits red, a Côte de Beaune white, a white wine from Macon and a Beaujolais.
From the Rhône we will taste: a Red from the Northern Côte du Rhône, a Chateauneuf du Pape red from the Southern Côte du Rhône, as well as a Tavel and a typical southern Rhône white
