Wine Foundation Class: The Soil, The Grape, and The Winemaker
A Wine Foundation Class
In our introductory class, we will go into depth on all the geographic elements that allow grapes to grow and flourish. We will discuss the winemakers’ art. How does the winemaker turn the raw grape into that complicated and nuanced alcoholic beverage? What creates those aromas recognized by the wine professionals but baffle the novice? Finally, we will explore and taste wines from the most planted and popular grapes on the planet. Light appetizers will be paired with the wines for this evening.
We will taste the following white wine varietals: Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillion and Chenin Blanc
For the red wines we will taste: Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
