For four days, the Carnival in Rio is probably the largest party on the planet.  The Cariocas (Rio locals) start planning for the following year's Carnival the moment the last parade of dancers, drummers and Bahian women roll through the Sambadrome in Rio.

The competing neigborhoods anxiously anticipate the decision as to which Samba troup will win the parade and claim bragging rights to the most creative neighborhood in Rio. 

The parades begin at 8pm each night and end around the 8am the following morning.  During that time aproximately 30 thousand dancers, drummers, hand pushed floats and semi clad women pour all their energy in the pursuit of winning best overall parade group. 

All of this dancing and playing requires a lot of Brazilian dishes to keep them going.

Tonight, you will be recreating the dishes that the Cariocas comsume to keep them dancing and partying all night long.
