Kitchen Table Catering offers “Iron Chef” competitions

It’'s all part of our special event offerings. People who think they “don’t know how to cook” work side by side to create a delicious meal from a few raw ingredients. It’s such a thrill to realize they can actually create something spectacular. (But to tell the truth, this is true of any class we teach!)

After these events, people often remark that they never believed they could cook such incredible dishes!

Kids birthday parties have been wildly successful at Kitchen Table. Kids have a blast and learn skills that they can use for life. Our cooking parties for kids are unforgettable: an exciting variation from “traditional” children’s birthday parties.

Last year our catering department organized a special event: A major downtown convention center had just won a national catering award, so where did they have their celebration party? At the Kitchen Table Cooking School of course, and everyone had a fantastic time.

One activity involved a “blind” tasting station. Each person donned a blindfold and was given four items to recognize by taste alone. The person with the most correct answers won a prize. Amazingly, no one was able to identify Soy Milk.

It took Tarragon to finally determine the winner.

We will be offering more activities like this in the future. Everyone agrees that watching people trying to figure out what something was just by taste is highly amusing. You don’t have to be a foodie to love cooking parties at the Kitchen Table. They’re creative; they encourage cooperation and they’re just plain fun.
