MARDI GRAS Charity Event for Humane Society of Louisiana (4th Annual Event) - 15% off Tax Break Sale!
A Regional Foods Class | $95 plus tax per person.
Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, can be traced back as far as 1718 when New Orleans was established, and was declared a legal holiday in Louisiana in 1875. For 3 days, Mardi Gras is celebrated with fancy balls, crazy parades, unbelievable floats and lots and lots of food consumed before the fasting at Lent. Here at the Kitchen Table, while we celebrate Mardi Gras , we will remember those who lost so much in Hurricane Katrina.
The Kitchen Table will donate the proceeds from this evening to the Humane Society of Louisiana. This incredible charity is working hard to rebuild the difficult road to recovery after Katrina. Please check out their website at www.humanela.org.
This is our 4th Annual MARDI GRAS Charity Event. The Kitchen Table dontates the full price of the class and adds an additional $50/person attending our Event to the total amount donated to the Humane Society of Louisiana.
So, in 2009, (our first Event), the Kitchen Table was able to donate $1,000.00 to the Humane Society of Louisiana.. In 2010, the class was sold out, so the Kitchen Table was able to donate $1,500.00 to the Humane Society of Louisiana. In 2011, the Kitchen Table was again able to donate $1,500.00, which is a lot of money to this non-profit organization. Thank you for making this possible.
Your evening at the Kitchen Table will be spent preparing traditional New Orleans cuisine
Crab Bisque with Celeri Remoulade
Shrimp, Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya
Cafe du Monde Beignets
You will be greeted with a Hurricane, so you can "Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez." Also our Sommelier has chosen some great wines to pair with this delicious menu which are included in the price of the class. Come, have fun and support a terrific cause.
