Creating Balanced Meals with Shelley Hillesheim a Natural Foods Chef - 15% off Tax Break Sale!
A Specialty Class | $80 plus tax per person.

A balanced diet means that you are getting the right types and amounts of foods and drinks to supply nutrition and energy for maintaining body cells, tissues, and organs, and for supporting optimal growth and development.  So, how can you be sure you are getting all of the nutrients your body needs? It’s easy – by eating a diet rich in a variety of whole foods!

This workshop will explore how creating and eating BALANCED meals, based on whole foods, will optimize your health, create sustained energy, and help reduce cravings. We’ll discuss the essential elements needed to create balanced meals along with a few secrets to help you add a gourmet touch (like texture, temperature and color) to all of your menus. We’ll also touch on balancing through acid and alkalizing foods.

This workshop begins with a brief lecture and then moves into an interactive, hands-on cooking class where you will prepare an entire meal (Soup to Dessert) to show you exactly how a balanced meal is created.

NOTE – This cooking workshop uses mostly ORGANIC ingredients along with the very best of what’s available and in season.

MENU:
Baby Lima Bean and Chard Soup
Broiled Tuna Steaks Stuffed with Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomatoes
Wild Rice with Cranberries and Hazelnuts
Roasted Winter Squash and Brussels Sprouts with Shallots and Thyme
Frozen Chocolate Coconut Haystacks
