TEEN CUISINE: Sharpen Your Wits
A Teen Cuisine Class
The first class in our NEW Teen Cuisine cooking series is aimed at giving you a practical understanding of how to use the most important tool in a chef's arsenal: The Chef Knife. In this class we will focus on safe handling, sharpening and proper grip of your chef knife so that you can cut vegetables with confidence.
You will learn classic French knife cuts that can be used in any style of cuisine
Emincé - Thin slices
Julienne - Matchstick strips
Brunoise - Cute little cubes
Mince
Roll cut
Suprêmes - Orange segments
Chiffonade - Cute little ribbons
All the resulting knife work will conclude in a stunning menu you will get to enjoy. On the menu today is:
Pan fried Chicken Parmigianno
Sautéed carrots and red peppers with caramelized onions
Mixed green salad with a tangy vinaigrette dressing
Panna Cotta garnished with orange Suprêmes
At the conclusion of this class you will have developed a much better control of your chef's knife and many other basic techniques of cooking.
