Chef Cody Attends the World Pastry Forum
Theme for this year's Championship Event: Childhood
For the second year in a row, our own Chef Cody Knopf is attending the World Pastry Forum in Phoenix Arizona. Last year she studied Three Dimensional Cakes, and this year she will be focusing on Wedding Cakes with such classes as: The Science of Baking and Chocolate, Five Star Plated Desserts, Liquid Desserts, Frozen Desserts, Classic Italian Pastries and Cookies, Extraordinary Celebration Cakes, Traditional Wedding Cakes, and All Chocolate Buffet. There are more, but we don't want to overwhelm your tastebuds!
Before she left, she took the time to create this treasured Cookie Monster Cake, an 8-inch round cake with the beloved Sesame Street character in blue frosting. Created for a lucky child's birthday, the cake features a surprise inside: checkerboard cake made of chocolate and vanilla. It also contains a yummy fudge filling to delight all the children at the party.
Cody looks forward to learning more about the fine art of sugar and chocolate, alongside pastry chefs from around the world. She expects to bring home a new standard of culinary excellence that will showcase her dedication to the Pastry Arts.
The Forum and End of the week Championship Event is sponsored by many famous brands, including Amoretti, Albert Uster Imports, Felchlin of Switzerland, American Baking Systems, Arctic Walk-in Coolers and Freezers, DesmonUSA, Dobla, Godiva Chocolatier, E. Guittard, Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, Pernigotti of Italy, Swiss Chalet, PreGel, CakeDeco.com, SpringUSA, LCM Chocolate Machines, Taylor, Ponthier Le Meillieur du Fruit and other fine food companies.
